YouTube

Hey guys, I started uploading to my channel about 2 weeks ago and I think I've come into the YouTube community with the wrong impression. After being a loyal subscriber to my favourite youtubers for about 2 years (on my personal channel) I had witnessed both the good and the bad that is the youtube community.

Within every real life community there are going to be nice people, and mean people. The thing about the youtube community is that it all takes place behind computer screens. Never in my time spent on YouTube, have I seen so many rude, mean, innapropriate and downright disgusting behaviour shown in comments posted by some users on youtube. I remember when youtube was a pleasant place and there was little to no mean feedback on peoples' videos.

However, I believe some people have taken advantage of the fact that youtube is an online community and that they can say whatever they want without actually having to say it to someone's face. I'm sure if that wasn't the case, that there would be little to no hate. If the people who write those mean and nasty comments were to actually see the person who's video it was they were hating on, do you think that they would have the courage to say those things to their face? Well I dont. The people who write horrible things are cowards, because that's what they're doing, WRITING about it. Not actually saying to their faces because they hide behind their usernames which ultimately makes them anonymous, enabling them to say whatever they want, to whoever they want.

Take Queenbeeuty for instance. She has been a beauty guru on YouTube for a long time and has put the effort and time into making videos for the world to see. Regardless of how much precious time she puts into YouTube, she has an immense following of "haters". These awful people are taking time out of their own lives to write extremely offensive things on her video comments so that she has to read them. Can you imagine having to read hundreds of hurtful things people are saying about you every time you log on to youtube? Luckily for Kalel, she has an even larger following of faithful subscribers, which I believe, are the reason she continues to make her videos. It takes a strong person to forget about the haters and to focus on the people who actually enjoy your videos and what you have to say.

Luckily I have only been uploading videos for about 2 weeks and only have a few subscribers so I haven't had to experience the mean feedback yet. So until then I'm thankful for the kind subscribers I have so far and will continue to support me fellow beauty gurus.

All in all people, the next time you're thinking about leaving a nasty comment on someone's video; think about how you would feel if you had the courage to put yourself out there and make a video for the world to view. Think about how you would feel if you saw a nasty comment on your video after working on it for hours. Words hurt just as much on the internet as the do in real life so think twice before snubbing someone's video :)

Love you guys & watch for my next post
xoxo,
Madeleine
